YVONNE ZHANG STUDIO

Teaching in Oakville Ontario, my students range anywhere from beginners to professionals, children to adults. I focus on music theatre and classical techniques, and adapt them to other styles such as pop, and jazz.
As well as teaching privately, I have had the pleasure to teach at Sheridan College, in the music theatre program.
I currently have students studying in performing arts schools at both secondary and post-secondary levels, as well as professional students in film, television and theatre. Students who wish to pursue a career in music have successfully auditioned for music theatre and classical voice programs at Canadian and American universities and colleges. Many are now performing in North America and Europe, and/or teaching.
I strive to maintain a safe and encouraging studio environment, where students not only celebrate their own achievements, but also their peers'. My students regularly participate in music festivals and Royal Conservatory of Music exams. Many have won local, provincial and national awards, including gold medals at OMFA provincial competitions.

About Yvonne
Singer, vocal & piano teacher, adjudicator, and accompanist.
She has studied piano with Leon Karan, and voice with Dr. Joan Heels. Subsequently, Yvonne has graduated from University of Toronto with a degree in arts and science. Additionally, Yvonne has associate level degrees in both voice and piano with the Royal Conservatory of Music.

Yvonne maintains a thriving private studio, teaching piano and voice in Oakville for over 10 years. She has been part of NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singsing) and ORMTA (Ontario Registered Music Teachers Association).
​
Yvonne has adjudicated in music festivals, and is actively involved in local music festivals as syllabus editor, concert fundraiser, and accompanist. She is a co-founder of the Oakville Vocal Arts Festival, and the head of music theatre and popular voice sections with Peel Music Festival. Yvonne also continues to work as an accompanist for royal conservatory of music exams, regional and provincial music festivals and concerts."​
